To Configure your Website in CuteFTP

Open CuteFTP.
Uploading content is allowed only through FTPS on Port 21. Hence, you need to choose the FTPS (SSL) Site option from the File -> New menu.
Additional Information -
Enter your site details on the following page:

Label: Type something meaningful to identify your site.

Host address: yourdomainname.com

Username and Password: The FTP username and password for yourdomainname.com

Click OK. Under General FTP sites, you would now see the site you have just configured.
To Enable Active/Passive Mode FTP (Anchor: ftpmode)
Different modes of data connection can be used during FTP. See details
There are 2 ways in which the data connection mode can be modified.

Global Settings:

Under Tools menu, select Global Options.

Under the Transfer section, change Data mode to PORT (Active mode) or PASV (Passive mode).
Click OK to save the changes.
This change will affect all the sites for whom the data connection mode was set by default.

For Individual Sites:

Select the site from the General FTP Sites list, right-click and then click Properties.

Under the Type tab, click the Data connection type drop-down menu.

Choose User PASV for Passive mode and Use PORT for Active mode. Click OK to save the changes.
The change is saved and active for future FTP sessions of this site.

To Connect and Upload using CuteFTP

Double-click the site you have configured as described above. This will make a connection to the server. Once you see the server files listed, double-click on web folder. Windows Server users need to open web folder.
NoteDepending upon the Directory/Folder structure of the Web Hosting package, you would need to upload your files to the relevant folder. See details

In the left pane in CuteFTP, click the Local Drives tab.

Navigate to the location of your website files. Select the files to be uploaded and right-click on the selection and choose Upload.

Your files should now be uploaded.
